Mental Health Treatment

Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) are community-based programs that offer a variety of services to support mental health. They provide an assessment of symptoms and concerns, individuals then work with their provider to identify goals and create a treatment plan. Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) are community-based programs that provide a variety of services to address both mental health and substance misuse. To find a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics near you visit: Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics.

Substance Use Treatment

Adults can access community-based programs that offer a variety of services for treatment and to assist them in achieving and maintaining recovery from substance(s). Detoxification and residential support services are also offered for those who need a safe, substance-free environment early in the treatment process. Women (pregnant or with children) can access community-based programs that are for women only. We offer residential services, women can bring their young children into services with them. Children can access special programs to help children and youth between the ages of 12 and 17 who struggle with substance misuse. Minors can be signed into a program by their parents or guardians. To find a Children’s program near you visit: Adolescent Substance Use Treatment Programs.

Opioid Dependence specialty treatment programs offer medically-supervised withdrawal from heroin and other opiate drugs, followed by ongoing treatment and rehabilitation for addiction. Children's Services

Children’s Office’s goal is to support new and ongoing efforts to improve the lives of Missouri’s children and families. The team provides education to those within and outside the department’s system on best practices and promising new interventions. To learn more visit: Children’s Services.

Compulsive Gambling Treatment

Outpatient treatment services are available for people experiencing problems with compulsive gambling and their families. Contracted agencies have counselors specially trained to provide treatment for compulsive gambling and offer services at no cost to Missourians. Recovery Support Services

Recovery support programs offer services such as care coordination, recovery coaching, spiritual counseling, group support, recovery housing and transportation, before, during, after and in coordination with other substance use disorder service providers. Consumer Operated Services

Consumer Operated Services Programs (COSPs) are peer run service programs that are controlled and operated by individuals with lived experience with mental health and emphasize self-help as their operational approach. Anyone with a mental health diagnosis or who is or has experienced symptoms of a mental illness is welcome to participate in services, free of charge. State Operated Psychiatric Hospitals and Facilities 

The Division of Behavioral Health (DBH) operates six adult inpatient facilities and one children’s psychiatric hospital. Adult state-operated facilities provide inpatient and residential services to individuals committed by the criminal or probate courts. Deaf Services

DMH offers behavioral health services from ASL-fluent staff at two Specialized Outpatient Centers and statewide through telehealth. Crisis services are available in ASL over videophone or by text. The Deaf Services Advocates Program supports the needs of Deaf people served at Community Mental Health Centers and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics.
