The Office of Governmental Affairs (OGA) is responsible for planning and coordinating state and federal legislative initiatives related to the Department of Mental Health’s programs. The Office works with the Director and the executive staff to establish legislative priorities and to complete research and technical preparation. OGA helps develop legislation and communicates regularly with the members of the General Assembly. The office monitors the progress of bills and other legislative activities, and provides this information to Department staff, the Mental Health Commission, and the Department's stakeholders.
